Vray Materials
We started this Vray materials section because we kept running into the same problem ourselves: most "free Vray material" sites out there are built for 3ds Max or generic renderers, and half the shaders don't actually behave right once you drop them into SketchUp, bump maps come in flat, reflections look plasticky, glossiness is way off. So, everything here is tested inside Vray for SketchUp specifically before it goes up, not just uploaded from a generic pack. Right now the collection is small, terracotta, rust iron, and two velvet fabric shaders, but we're adding to it regularly rather than dumping hundreds of low-effort materials at once just to pad the page. Each one is built as a proper PBR material, with diffuse, roughness, and bump channels calibrated so it actually reacts to light correctly, instead of just looking like a colored sphere with a texture slapped on. If you're rendering interiors, these are the kind of Vray shaders you'd use for hero surfaces, a feature wall, an accent chair fabric, a metal fixture, where a flat or noisy material would be the first thing a client notices. Terracotta and rust iron are both tileable, so they hold up on larger surfaces without visible seams. The velvet fabrics are built with enough surface variation to avoid that plastic-y sheen a lot of free fabric shaders have.
